Our Activities

Eye Checkup at Masinde Muliro University
Through our Nihamasishe program, we hosted a transformative self-acceptance training for six families of individuals with albinism, creating a safe space for open conversations, learning, and empowerment. The interactive session encouraged participants to challenge harmful stereotypes, embrace self-love, and strengthen family bonds in ways that promote lasting confidence. By fostering supportive and affirming home environments, this initiative reinforced our mission to cultivate inclusion, resilience, and pride within the albinism community.

Breaking Myths, Building Understanding
Understanding how to care for a child with albinism is key to ensuring their health, confidence, and inclusion. When we visited Ana’s home, we found a loving family eager to support her but unsure of how to properly care for her skin, vision, and overall well-being. Through open discussions, we debunked harmful myths and replaced them with facts on sun protection, vision support, and the realities of albinism. By the end of our visit, Ana’s family had not only gained knowledge but also a new sense of confidence in advocating for her needs. Equipping families with the right information ensures that children with albinism grow up in supportive environments where they can thrive.
